TRISTAN’S Resident Scholar.
I am currently a high school senior at Hopkins High School. At the end of my junior year I was presented with a wonderful opportunity to participate in a program called ProPEL (Professionals Providing Experience for Life) at my school. The program would allow me to mentor with a person of my choice in a field of my choice. I have always loved to read and thought that a good career for me would be in the book publishing field. With this program I was able to pursue that idea and figure out if the book publishing industry would be the right place for me. When the program started in fall, I found publishers across the Twin Cities. I eventually found the perfect place for me at TRISTAN Publishing. At TRISTAN I hope to be able to discover my “calling” in the publishing world. For right now, I hope to help in any way that I can and to learn as much as possible about the industry as I can. I am lucky enough to be at TRISTAN for six hours a week through the end of May.
Books and More Books.
Besides my mentorship, I also enjoy working at the Hopkins Library. I have been working there for almost two years and love almost every minute of it. Since I am also a senior in high school a lot of my free time revolves around homework. Besides working at the library and homework, I enjoy my favorite TV shows and fooling around with my six year old brother, David.
